Altitude 95 went under renovations and opened under a new name: 58 Tour Eiffel. 58 Tour Eiffel is located 95 meters above sea level, on the first floor of the Eiffel Tower. This two level restaurant gives you get a beautiful view of the Seine River and Trocadero on one side and an inside view of the Tower on the other side. | The restaurant has changed names. You can reserve on-line for dinner, but at lunch it is first come, first served. There is a separate line to buy tickets to go to the restaurant, and a separate line to take the elevator. We were in the restaurant in 10 minutes at lunch time, but we were lucky. It is best to arrive at 11:30 A.M. The decor is modern and clean. Lunch is self-serve for the appetizer and dessert. The waiter brings the main dish and the drinks. The menu includes simple, well-prepared food, and is available for viewing on-line. There is a menu for kids with pasta. You have an excellent view from the 1st floor, and you can visit an exhibit about the monument. My 7-year-old son enjoyed the pasta, but was disappointed with the "chef s surprise" layered chocolate cake. I enjoyed the salmon and fruit salad. I rate it 3 stars due to self-service. For a view of the Eiffel Tower and fine dining, you may try "Les Ombres Restaurant" at 27 Quai Branly, but it costs a bit more. |
